Seeing the Opportunity
When I think back to the early days of North Valley Precision, I never imagined the company would grow into what it is today. We started with a small, focused team and a big commitment to delivering top-quality assurance services. Over the years, we’ve expanded our capabilities, grown our client base, and built a culture that values both quality and innovation.
Launching our metal finishing division in January 2025 is another step in that evolution. The decision wasn’t made lightly. We looked at our clients’ needs, the gaps in the market, and the capabilities we already had in-house. What we saw was an opportunity to not only serve our clients better but to extend our quality-first philosophy into a complementary space that fits naturally with our current operations.
A Natural Extension of Our Work
At NVP, our reputation has always been built on precision, reliability, and trust. Our QA services have helped clients in multiple industries ensure their products meet the highest standards. Over time, we noticed many of these same clients were seeking reliable metal finishing partners. The processes we already used in quality control, testing, and client collaboration positioned us perfectly to enter this space.
Metal finishing isn’t just another service for us. It’s a way to extend the same principles of quality, accountability, and process rigor that define our QA work. The same care we put into inspecting and improving software, devices, or industrial products now applies to metal finishing. Every piece, every component, every project is handled with the same dedication to excellence.
Challenges and Preparation
Expanding into a new division is never simple. There were operational hurdles, regulatory requirements, and the need for specialized equipment. But we approached it the same way we’ve tackled other challenges: methodically, with careful planning, and a commitment to getting it right the first time.
We invested in training, brought in experts, and built processes that mirror our QA principles. Our goal was to create a division that doesn’t just meet client expectations but raises the bar. We want every customer to see that North Valley Precision stands for more than just service—we stand for craftsmanship, precision, and trust, no matter the product or process.
Building the Right Team
One of the most exciting parts of launching this division is the team we’ve assembled. We’ve promoted several talented employees from within NVP who already understand our values and culture. Seeing people grow into leadership roles within the company is incredibly rewarding. These team members bring not only technical expertise but also a deep understanding of the North Valley Precision way.
Their insight has been invaluable in designing workflows, establishing quality benchmarks, and ensuring that our operations scale efficiently. By investing in our people, we’re also investing in the long-term success of the division. This approach reinforces a culture of accountability and pride, where every individual knows their work directly contributes to the company’s growth and reputation.
Impact on Our Clients
Ultimately, every decision at North Valley Precision comes back to our clients. Expanding into metal finishing allows us to provide a more complete solution for the industries we serve. Clients no longer need to coordinate with multiple vendors for different aspects of production. They can rely on NVP for consistent, high-quality results across multiple domains.
This consolidation of services not only saves time and cost but also ensures that quality is maintained at every stage. We’ve already received positive feedback from early clients, who appreciate the seamless integration and the confidence that comes with working with a single, trusted partner.
A Long-Term Vision
Launching the metal finishing division is not just a short-term business move. It’s part of our long-term vision for North Valley Precision. We’re building a company that adapts to market needs, invests in its people, and continues to lead in quality and innovation.
For me, as CEO, it’s a reminder that growth requires courage, strategic thinking, and a willingness to evolve. It’s also a reminder that success is about more than profits—it’s about creating opportunities for our team, delivering value to our clients, and building a legacy of excellence.
As I reflect on this milestone, I’m proud of the work our team has done. From the planning stage to the first projects rolling out of the new metal finishing division, everything we’ve accomplished is a testament to careful strategy, dedicated employees, and a culture that values quality above all else.
Brandon Erickson from Wisconsin has always believed that strong foundations lead to sustainable growth. The metal finishing division is just the latest example of that philosophy in action. It’s a reminder that with the right people, processes, and principles, a company can expand its capabilities while staying true to what makes it great.
North Valley Precision is growing, evolving, and taking on new challenges—and our metal finishing division is proof that when we invest in quality, the possibilities are endless.
